Not sure which mat? Take the quiz

The Birthday Gift Set contains two pieces: a Wriggle silicone leather changing mat (65x37cm, available in Yellow Mocca, Peach Green, or Lilac Red) and a Makedo Cardboard Build Kit, which turns any cardboard box into a construction project using real connectors and a safe-tip saw.

Bought separately, both items come to CHF 65. Together they’re CHF 55, a saving of CHF 10.

The Wriggle is made from 100% silicone leather: no PVC, no EVA foam, no BPA, no phthalates. The surface is non-porous, so mess stays on top and wipes clean in seconds with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, machine wash on delicate or hand wash cold. Treat it like cashmere.

Produced and certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, the highest tier, safe for newborn skin contact from day one. Designed in Switzerland, built to last 5+ years of daily use.

A strong choice for a first, second, or third birthday. The mat goes down for creative sessions (paint, craft, building) and stays there, because the Makedo kit gives something to actually build. A mat to build on, and a kit to build with.

Honest note: this gift takes up a whole afternoon. That is the point.

The set arrives in packaging suitable for giving. No wrapping required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the mat slip on wooden, vinyl or tiled floors?

No. The underside is slightly textured to stay steady on smooth surfaces. If the floor is dusty or has polish residue, wipe it with a dry cotton cloth before placing the mat. Avoid microfibre on wooden floors: it can damage the protective layer on the floor.

Can the mat go in the washing machine or dishwasher?

Yes, on a gentle cycle, but the less it goes in the machine, the better. Most days a damp cloth is all it needs, because the non-porous surface keeps mess on top. For a deeper clean, hand washing is best for the mat long term. If you do use the machine: delicate or hand-wash cycle, cool water, mild detergent, and never with heavily soiled laundry. No tumble dryer, and the dishwasher is a no-go. Let it dry fully before you store it for a while.

How do I clean the mat properly?

Use warm water, a soft cloth and gentle soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbers or bleach as these can damage the surface.

Full cleaning guidance is available on our textile care page.

Is the mat safe for babies and toddlers?

Yes. Huske mats were produced and certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I. They are free from PVC, BPA, phthalates, lead, latex and odour. They are safe for daily use from newborn and suitable for sensitive skin.

Is it safe for warm plates or trays?

Yes. The mats can replace an oven glove or heat mat, and they handle warm dishes straight from the oven. Keep them away from red-hot coals (BBQ embers), which sit above everyday cooking heat.

Will food stains or colour transfer mark the mat?

Most marks wipe away with warm water and a gentle soap. Very strong pigments, such as turmeric, tomato sauce, beetroot or certain craft materials, may leave a temporary tint. These usually fade over time with regular cleaning, light pressure and sunlight exposure.

See our textile care page for detailed guidance on specific materials.

Are Huske mats really waterproof?

Yes. Huske mats are fully waterproof, not just water resistant. Spills pool on the surface and can be wiped clean instantly with a soft cloth. The silicone is non-porous, so nothing soaks in.

How durable are they? Will they crack like vinyl?

Silicone leather will not crack, curl, fade or become brittle. Vinyl often hardens over time and shows stress lines, especially when folded. Huske mats stay soft and flexible for years and can be folded or rolled without damage.

Can I use this as a baby play mat?

Yes. The Roam Mat is suitable for tummy time, early crawling and floor play. For larger floor coverage, many families pair it with the Wriggle Mat.

What if I do not like the colour or the size?

You can return your unused mat within the 60 day return window. If you are unsure about sizing, see our mat size guide before ordering.

Where are Huske mats made?

Designed in Switzerland and made in Korea in a fully audited, ISO 9001 certified facility that specialises in silicone products. The mats were produced and certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100/1.

How sustainable is the mat?

Huske mats are made from long lasting silicone leather, produced and certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I. They are designed to replace disposable or frequently replaced fabric mats, reducing waste over time.

Will pet nails damage the mat?

Normal pet movement is fine. Very sharp nails or repeated scratching can leave light surface marks, similar to any soft silicone product.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes. Huske mats are water resistant, heat tolerant, UV fast and easy to clean after outdoor use.

Why families choose Huske over vinyl

  • Safe materials
Huske mats were produced and certified under OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I. They contain no PVC, no phthalates and no BPA. Vinyl mats often release VOCs and rely on plasticisers.

  • Easy daily care
Huske silicone leather wipes clean with water or gentle soap. Vinyl stains and deteriorates with repeated cleaning and chemicals.

  • Durability indoors and outdoors
Huske mats resist sun, water, heat and daily wear. Vinyl becomes brittle, fades and can crack or peel over time.

  • Sensory positive design
Huske mats have two sides, two colours and a soft texture that supports calm play, better grip and visual depth. Vinyl is single textured and often overstimulating.

  • Family centred performance
Iron-safe for ironing, robust for crafting, and soft for babies to lie on. Vinyl cannot offer this flexibility.
